The SeaCube Standard: What You Are Quoted Is What You Get

Cold storage comes with common pitfalls. Here is how SeaCube is built to solve every one.

What Can Go WrongThe SeaCube Standard
A different unit arrives than the one quoted, such as a diesel unit in place of an electric oneYou receive the quoted unit, inspected, rent-ready, and delivered on your agreed date.
Capacity is promised but is not available when the order is placedYour unit comes from SeaCube’s own fleet, staged in the Phoenix area and across 7 Southwest depots
A low quote grows with hidden fees not provided in the quoteYour monthly rate holds for the full lease term, and your quote lists your delivery and return fees up front
Service is slow, and no one takes ownership of the problemSupport is available 24/7 through one dedicated contact. If a unit fails from normal wear and tear, we cover the repair, and replacement units are available subject to inventory

If a provider cannot put the unit, the date, and the rate in writing, ask why.

The Real Cost of Diesel Cold Storage in Arizona

A diesel unit can look less expensive on the quote. The full cost shows up after delivery.

With a diesel unit, you also pay for:

  • Fuel, bought and hauled to your site, sometimes daily
  • Refueling operations that take staff away from the operation
  • A fuel system to maintain, plus more moving parts that can fail
  • Diesel price spikes that raise both your fuel bill and your delivery costs

With a SeaCube all-electric unit:

  • The unit plugs into 3-phase grid power, with no fuel to buy, haul, or store
  • No fuel system to maintain
  • Temperature is designed to hold within 1 degree of the set point, with set points from -22°F to 86°F, depending on the model and operating conditions
  • No exposure to diesel fuel prices, which helps make operating costs more predictable.
  • No diesel exhaust at your site when running on grid power.

For sites without reliable grid power, generator-powered units are available. See our electric reefer vs. diesel trailer comparison.

Proof Behind the Promise

  • More than 30 years of cold chain expertise. SeaCube has supplied temperature-controlled equipment to the world’s largest shipping lines, built to perform in the harshest environments.
  • Nearly 50 years in Arizona. Martin Container, now part of SeaCube Cold Solutions, has served customers throughout Arizona, California, and Nevada for nearly 50 years.

Rent or Buy: Compare Your Options

Buying may carry a lower upfront price. Ownership, however, brings the cost of parts replacement and repairs for the rest of the unit’s life. Renting from SeaCube means SeaCube covers repairs from normal wear and tear, with 24/7 support and no upfront capital purchase.

What to Have Ready for Your Quote

  • Delivery ZIP code and start date
  • Expected rental length: long-term, seasonal, or short-term
  • Set point and pallet count, so we can recommend the right unit
  • Site power: units require 3-phase power, either 460V (30 amps) or 230V (50 amps). SeaCube can provide transformers for 208V and 240V service.
  • Site access: chassis delivery needs about 13.5 feet of height clearance. Tilt-bed delivery needs about 12.6 feet, plus 16 feet of vertical clearance and 50 to 60 feet of straight-line space for off-loading.
  • Operating space: room around the unit to stage, load, and unload product.

Not sure about any of these? Our team reviews every site with you before delivery.
